The Thief

The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy: I have come that they may have life, and have life to the full. John 10:10

I am aware of the enemy close at hand endeavouring at each point of victory to snatch the rewards of that victory, if he can. It is almost amusing to know these are his tactics and he employs them in ignorance of the greatness of our God, even as he orchestrated the crucifixion of our Christ, not fully comprehending the power and authority, the Person he was dealing with. I, sometimes, find it hard to believe how quickly he rushes in.

At school we go over problems several times until we know how to do them right for the test. So I realize, that the lessons I have already learned in the Lord (and not in my own idea of what should be), must be implemented now in resistance and gaining further victory.

-speaking to the young men (but the principle is good for us all)
...All of you, clothe yourselves with humility toward one another, because, 'God opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble.' Humble yourselves, therefore, under God's mighty hand, that he may lift you up in due time. Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you. Be self-controlled and alert. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour. Resist him, standing firm in the faith, because you know that your brothers throughout the world are undergoing the same kind of sufferings. 1 Peter 5:8&9
