God's Love

This is how we know what love is: Jesus Christ laid down his life for us. And we ought to lay down our lives for our brothers. If anyone has material possessions and sees his brother in need but has no pity on hi, how can the love of God be in him/ Dear children, let us not love with words or tongue but with actions and in truth. This then is how we know that we belong to the truth, and how we set our hearts at rest in his presence whenever our hearts condemn us. for God is greater that our hearts, and he knows everything. Dear friends, if our hearts do not condemn us, we have confidence before God and receive from him anything we ask, because we obey his commands and do what pleases him. and this is his command: to believe in the name of his Son, Jesus Christ, and to love one another as he commanded us. Those who obey his commands live in him, and he in them. and this is how we know that he lives in us: We know it by the Spirit he gave us. 1John 3:16 - 24 NIV

One of my favourite Scriptures:

You see, at just the right time, when we were still powerless, Christ died for the ungodly. Very rarely will anyone die for a righteous man, though for a good man someone might possibly dare to die. But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.
Since we have now been justified by his blood, how much more shall we be saved from God's wrath through him! For if, when we were God's enemies, we were reconciled to him through the death of his son, how much more, having been reconciled, shall we be saved through his life! Not only is this so, but we also rejoice in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have now received reconciliation. Rom. 5:6 - 11 NIV

Wonderful scriptures!
Love your new template. I was going to use this at one point in time as well.
How do you like this cold weather?

Thanks, Jenny. I liked the other one, too, but it came with links attached which are not of my doing. As I know nothing about those links (or how to get rid of them) I thought it better to change the template. I don't mind the weather at all - as long as I can dress for it, keep moving, and pay for the heat to keep warm. I think it is good to have a deep cold once in awhile - to kill bugs etc. The wind tends to make me a little nervous though - winter or summer. We had a big tree come down in our trailer court last year.
